Microblading is a cosmetic tattoo procedure that uses a specialized handheld tool to create hair-like strokes, enhancing the appearance of your eyebrows with natural-looking results.

Microblading is one of many Permanent Eyebrow techniques, in which a handheld tool is used to make tiny micro cuts in the form of hair strokes to the skin.  Pigment is then rubbed over the micro strokes, and it absorbs into the skin, and then heals into the skin.   Most other permanent eyebrow techniques involve the use of a hand tool that is motorized.  The motorized techniques don’t cut the skin but can also create hairstrokes or fill the brows in with soft color.  Microblading and machine permanent eyebrow techniques can be combined to achieve amazing results!  An experienced artist can help guide you toward the eyebrow enhancement techniques that are best for you.

The longevity of microblading varies, depending on the client’s skin, the type of pigment used, the skill of the artist, and the aftercare.  Touch-ups are usually recommended to maintain the desired look.  It is crucial that you choose an experienced artist to ensure a natural look, as well as a gentle and safe procedure.

Both Microblading and Permanent Eyebrows done with a machine fade over time.  They are both considered cosmetic tattoos, and we can’t say for sure how long it will last.  However, most of our clients at Cosmetic Solutions are touched up every 1-2 years.

Most clients report minimal discomfort during the procedure. A topical numbing cream is applied beforehand to ensure your comfort throughout the session.

After microblading, the hairstrokes will appear more intense, but the color will soften as the top layer of dead skin cells sheds over the first 7 days.  You will have to apply an aftercare ointment during that first week, and avoid sun, saunas, steam, and exfoliation in the brow area. 

Microblading is suitable for many people who want to enhance the shape and fullness of their eyebrows.  Depending on your brow goals, and your skin, you may be a better candidate for a different cosmetic tattoo technique such as Nano brows, powder brows, or digital blading.  Microblading and cosmetic brow tattooing should be avoided if you are pregnant or nursing, and if you have any skin or health conditions, they should be discussed with your professional.
