While some minor discomfort is expected, a topical numbing cream is applied to minimize pain during the procedure.  Many clients don’t experience any pain at all.

Permanent eyeliner can last for several years, but the exact duration varies depending on factors such as the individual’s skin type, lifestyle, and sun exposure.  The pigments and techniques used by your artist will also contribute to the longevity of your permanent eyeliner.  We suggest refreshing the permanent eyeliner every 1-3 years to correct any fading that may have occurred. 

Both color and style of permanent eyeliner are customized to each client.  At Cosmetic Solutions, we perform permanent eyeliner procedures daily, and they range from a very natural lash enhancement to a thicker, more defined look.  We can also add an enhanced effect on the outer half of the lashline.  You can choose to have permanent eyeliner on the top lashline, the bottom lashline, or both.  Our artists will help you decide what the best option is for you.

It is imperative to choose an experienced permanent makeup artist for permanent eyeliner.  When going to artists that are highly qualified and educated like the artists at Cosmetic Solutions, permanent eyeliner is perfectly safe. The waterline and the corners are never tattooed, and the eyes are closed for the majority of the treatment.

Because the artist needs to be able to tattoo the lash line, lash extensions must be removed at least 2 days prior to the appointment.  You can reapply your lash extensions once healing is complete.

As a precaution, we do not perform cosmetic tattooing on pregnant or nursing women.

Please discontinue the use of lash growth serum at least 6 weeks prior to your permanent eyeliner appointment. This is because lash enhancement serums create blood flow to the lash line, and can cause sensitivity, along with increased bruising and or swelling.  You can resume using your lash growth serum once healing is complete.

Avoid caffeine, alcohol, tanning and blood-thinning medications for 24 hours before the appointment.  Be sure to remove lash extensions at least 2 days before your procedure, and discontinue the use of any eyelash growth serums at least 6 weeks prior to your appointment.  Also avoid having Botox/filler done around the eye area for 2 weeks before and after your appointment.
